Tour starting outside the doors of the Waterford County Museum (eircode X35 NW63)
1. Town Hall/Augustinian Church: Learn about the Market Town and its origins from ancient Norman settlement times along with the order of the Augustinians to the area.
2. Town Park/Lookout: Here you’ll hear the stories of rebellion and independence as well as a stunning viewpoint of the harbour where once sited the public outdoor swimming pool
3. Cunnigar Sand Spit: Take in the sites of this unique geological formation feature in the seaside harbour that is home to many forms of maritime flora and fauna.
4. Dungarvan Castle: Strolling inside the ancient wall boundaries of the old market town around to the door of the castle, you’ll hear stories of battles and the brave that fought for their ideals through the centuries.
5. Galwey’s Lane/Quayside: Walking down this narrow lane to the quayside you’ll pass items that once stood proudly in the middle of the large Devonshire square, along the quayside you’ll hear of life in the harbour town.
6. Devonshire Bridge/Causeway: This crossing point from Dungarvan to Abbeyside you’ll hear about the Duke of Devonshire, Railway construction and see the bouy that once marked the wreck of the Moresby ship.
7. Walton Park: Here you’ll enjoy the peace and calmness of a public park while looking over at the beautiful Monavullagh/Comeragh hills surrounding the town.
8. Railway Bridge: Walking across this bridge which is now the beginning section of the award winning 46km Waterford greenway but was once the active line of the Great Southern and Western railway.
9. High Street/Creamery: Standing in this location you’ll hear of the extremely busy co-operative dairy manufucturing plant that employed 1000s of local people.
10. The Square/St Mary’s church: Walking through the square, you’ll hear stories of fair days, market stalls and much agricultural activities that happened over the centuries. Taking vantage of the dominating St Mary’s Catholic church standing atop Mary’s street.

This tour will suit all ages from aged 4 upwards and if customers intend on bringing either small push prams/buggies or electric mobility scooters with small wheels please know that there are sections of this walking route that has narrow footpaths, cobbled uneven surfaces that may impede on the ability to roll along.
